In the PGT Championship Invitational, the top players compete for a prize pool of $500,000

The PGT Championship is a freeroll for the best high rollers of the year, with a prize pool of $500,000 guaranteed to the winner. Among them are this year’s PGT champions, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, and Stephen Chidwick.

The 21 competitors all earned their seats in Wednesday’s PokerGO-sponsored event by placing well in previous events with entry fees of $10,000 or more, including the World Series of Poker Main Event. This implies that Espen Jorstad, the current World Series of Poker Main Event Champion, will be present.

The freeroll beginning stack is based on the number of points a player has achieved; for every 10 points, a player receives 1,000 chips.

The names and current chip counts of the participants in today’s tournament follow.

Currently, Chidwick is the best.
In 2022, Chidwick, a 33-year-old poker player from Kent, England, won the most money in major buy-in tournaments, totaling $6.3 million, by cashing 32 times for a total of $6.3 million. He leads these other players with six victories. According to the PGT standings for 2021, Chidwick came in at number six. His most recent victory was a $10,000 tournament at PGT Aria High Rollers earlier this month.

Phil Ivey, who had not been in the top ten since 2012, made a significant return to tournament participation in 2022. Ivey finished in second place, proving once again that he is one of the finest players in the world, with a total of 17 cashes, three victories, and $5.9 million. Short-deck tournaments accounted for two of them victories.

Jason Koon, the GGPoker ambassador who has won over $41 million in his career, rounds out the top three. After risking $800,000 for a shot at $1.6 million on “Heads-Up Duel,” Koon just defeated Phil Hellmuth. While attending the PGT Poker Masters in October, he won a $50,000 tournament.

To clarify, the individual who finishes up with all the chips wins the pot.

PokerGO users may watch the final table unfold live tonight at 4 p.m. ET. On Thursday at 4 p.m. ET, the championship round will begin.
